CUSTOMER CHARTER
At Badger, we understand that the purchase of your new home may be one of the most important decisions you will make and as such we will be there every step of the way to ensure the process is as simple and stress free as possible. Buying a new home can be both exciting and demanding, but our staff will be on hand to try and make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as it can be.
We aim to provide high levels of service to all our customers and as such, our Customer Charter below sets out our clear and straight forward procedures that you can expect from us.
- Once you have decided to buy a Badger home and you are in a position to proceed with that purchase, Solicitors can be instructed. Our Sales Team will initially arrange to meet with you in order to review full details of your new home including provision of site plans, floor plans, specifications, choices that are available for you to make and procedures for making those choices. Reservation forms will be completed and signed, and you will pay your reservation fee. At this stage we will also provide you with an approximate estimate of when the property will be ready to move into together with any site-specific details such as maintenance requirements for communal spaces etc. This initial meeting will provide you with clear details of the terms of your purchase to enable you to make an informed decision. Cancelation rights will also be outlined as will details of how your reservation fee will be held including any deposits and pre-payments for any variations you may wish to make to the property.
- Following your reservation meeting, our Sales Team will instruct our Solicitors to issue the full legal pack including contract to your Solicitors. This will be done by providing your Solicitors with access to a secure data room that will contain all relevant information for them to review on your behalf. During the legal process of your purchase, our Sales Team will be on hand to answer any questions you have and to help guide you through the process as necessary.
- Where possible, we will allow you to view your new home during the construction phase. However, for Health & Safety reasons visits may be restricted particularly during the early stages. Should you wish to view, please ensure that you make an appointment first with either our Selling Agents or our Site Manager. Building sites can be dangerous places so please allow our staff to look after you when you are there.
- Upon exchange of contracts of your purchase we will be able to give you a clearer indication of when your new home will be ready for you to move into. Completion will normally be on notice, which our Sales Team can explain further, or occasionally we will be able to agree a fixed completion date.
- When the big day arrives, and your new home is ready to move into our Site Manager will arrange to meet you to carry out a full new home demonstration and handover. This will provide you with all the information you require for you new home and allow you to ask any questions you may have. Our Site Manager will also provide you with a comprehensive handover pack containing all the important instruction manuals and warranty/guarantee documents. A few days after you move in you should receive an informal courtesy visit/call from our Site Manager to check that everything is okay.
- Upon completion of your purchase your Solicitor will be responsible for activating your NHBC Buildmark warranty. Full details of the warranty will be given to you at your reservation meeting but please do contact our sales team if you have any queries. During the first two years of the ten-year warranty period, you will deal directly with us. Your initial point of contact will be our Site Manager, but please feel free to contact our Head Office if you prefer. Your handover pack will provide you with all the contact details you will need. From years three through to ten of the warranty period you will be required to contact the NHBC direct. Your NHBC cover also provides you with deposit protection from exchange of contracts to completion. By providing you with this full ten-year warranty we are committed to giving you complete peace of mind.
- We at Badger aim to provide you with the highest levels of service before, during and after you move in and as such, we operate in full accordance with The Consumer Code for Home Builders. Further details can be found below.
